Long Term Care
Long-term care (LTC) insurance is important coverage that provides valuable support and financial resources to help cover the cost of long-term care you might need in the event of an illness, accident, or through the normal effects of aging. As we live longer, there is a greater chance that you will need some type of long-term care services and support.
A long-term care insurance policy helps pay for the care you need when you are unable to do some of the basic activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, eating, continence, toileting, and transferring. Many people think long-term care means going to a nursing home. However, today, a variety of long-term care services may actually help keep people out of nursing homes by allowing them to remain at home or live independently as long as possible. Long-term services may include: Home Health Care, Assisted Living, Adult Day Care or Nursing Home Services.
Some of the advantages of Long-Term Care policies include:
- Alleviating financial burdens on families associated with caring for aging loved ones
- Meeting the benefit gaps provided by limited Medicare coverage
- Providing peace of mind for your loved ones that you will be taken care of
- Give you a wider range of choice about who provides your care and where you receive it
